More than a year after launching the first one, Australia’s biggest RV club will establish a second no-frills, members-only RV park at Railton in Tasmania. The Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia said the new park scheduled to open in early-March will be located on a block of land alongside the existing free camping area in Railton (pictured), which currently accommodates a maximum of 10 vehicles at any one time.
Supported by the local Kentish Council, the RV Park will have limited facilities including a dump point, potable water and sheltered areas. The park will be managed by volunteers and only available to members who own a self-contained vehicle.
CMCA Chairman, Garry Lee, said the club remains committed to developing an RV Park network across Australia for members and said it hopes to “announce at least another three or four in coming months, located in New South Wales, South Australia and another one, possibly two, in Tasmania”.
“The park is located approximately 25km south of Devonport and will make for an ideal first stop when disembarking the Spirit of Tasmania ferry,” he said.
