New Melbourne Supershow manager appointed

Retail specialist takes on unenviable task of organising Victoria's biggest caravan shows

After a nationwide search, the Caravan Industry Association of Victoria (CIA) has appointed Scott Leahy as its new show manager.

Leahy will lead CIA’s in-house team to conduct and develop the Association’s four annual shows – the Victorian Caravan Camping & Touring Supershow, Melbourne Leisurefest, Bendigo Leisurefest and the Border RV & Camping Expo.

CIA boss Rob Lucas said Leahy had a strong background in people management and logistics from his previous role as external show manager at outdoor equipment retailer Anaconda, which is a member of the CIA.

“While at Anaconda, Scott organised more than 40 show displays across Australia in the past year alone,” he said.

In the new Event Manager role, Leahy will take over the duties of Peter Wright, a former Executive Officer at the CTIAV who previously organized the shows on a contract basis.

The position, which was offered with a salary of up to $80,000, attracted more than 100 applications.
