New Hard Korr camper arrives

LED lighting specialist releases first Queensland-built, premium off-road camper
Outdoor LED specialist Korr Lighting has released its first off-road camper trailer.
The eight-year-old business has teamed up with Beenleigh, Queensland-based Austyle Kampers to build the new Hard Korr HKC-6000 hybrid range.
With its dark, grey/black exterior styling, the new Hard Korr model follows the path of other, military-style new releases like the Terra Trek and Bruder X
Measuring 2.05m high, 1.8m wide and 6.0m long overall (unopened), the Hard Korr camper is built with a heavy-duty 3 x 150 x 50mm hot dipped galvanized chassis, with 2.5mm powdercoated aluminium body panels. All internal components are welded for strength.
Off-road hardware includes Cruisemaster independent twin shock/coii suspension, DO-35 hitch, 12in brakes and 16in alloys on 245/75 off-road tyres, while a 560mm ground clearance and rock slider kit add to its bush-bashing abilities.
The Hard Korr also boasts an electric roof lift system, with the option of an hydraulic system using four heavy-duty rams, for an additional $9500.
Tare weight is around the 1500kg mark, and set-up time is a claimed three minutes or less.
Entry is via doors on both sides of the camper, and different layout configurations are possible including the queen size mattress, bunks, dinette/single bed, and combination shower/toilet.
The HKC-6000 hybrid also comes with a large awning, while the external kitchen on the top-spec Deluxe model includes a 65 litre Waeco slide-out fridge, twin-burner cooker, benchtop and sink.
The 150 litre water storage is hooked up to an instant hot water system and 12V pump, and the electrical system on the Deluxe includes two 130Ah AGM batteries, a Redarc BMS Manager30, and 120W twin solar panels.
Various exterior storage options include boxes for wet gear, a shovel holder and a dedicated storage rack on the drawbar to carry two jerry cans.
Not surprisingly, there’s Korr-branded lighting all-round including two 20W flood lights over the kitchen and large round LED downlights inside. The Deluxe version also comes standard with a four speaker audio system.
As well as the hydraulic roof system, other options available include a grey water tank and portable toilet.
According to the Hard Korr website, Korr Lighting had the “aim of developing a new breed of camper trailer that would meet the modern day camper’s expectations”.
Pricing starts at $59,990 for the base model, with the top-spec Deluxe priced at $74,990.
