Safety and security is a big issue when travelling around in your RV, particularly if you're inexperienced, a bit older or anxious, or travelling solo.
To help RV travellers sleep better at night and also protect their valuable home-away-from-home from thieves, aftermarket RV alarm specialist RV Secure has released a new range-topping, Platinum X alarm and tracking system, brimming with the latest in security technology including GPS tracking and an SMS notification system.
Included in the Platinum X package that's wired up to the RV battery, is a control unit with LCD display, plus a number of detectors designed to detect intruders and sound an alarm, including a PIR intruder detector mounted inside the RV and a Reed switch for the main door.
There's also a 24 hour ‘Panic’ switch, while the alarm system can be set in Normal, Silent or Night mode depending on the circumstances or time of day. There's also a a blue alarm strobe as an additional alert alongside the high output waterproof siren.
What's more, the Platinum X system is expandable to up to 16 sensors to cater for different needs, RV sizes and layouts, with optional wired PIN switches also available.
For further peace of mind, the in-built Anti-Tow/Anti-Hitch feature with adjustable sensitivity activates the caravan's electric brakes on alarm and prevents it from being towed away, while there's also the option of GPS tracking of your van including SMS alarm notifications if it's stolen.
As a bonus, the system also comes with an in-built digital level function to assist with levelling the van at the campsite.
RV Secure says the Australian-made security system is easy to install, and comes with two multi-function remotes for ease of operation.
The RV Secure Platinum X is available online for $699.
