The annoying problem of rain water pooling and gushing over the front of the caravan awning and causing unwanted puddles, has prompted an Aussie 'nomad' inventor to come up with a clever solution.
The new RainAway awning gutter fits across the front of the pull-out awning and is made from waterproof marine grade upholstery, with 25mm nylon, double sewn ribbing for added durability.
It attaches in minutes to the awning poles, using straps and buckles, and incorporates a plastic garden tap fitting with plastic flanges so you can easily connect a flexible hose and direct the rain water into a jerry can or other water container if you want to use the water later.
The RainAway is made in Australia; in fact, they're made on the road to order as the founders of the business are full time travellers.
Prices vary depending on the width of your caravan awning, with a 2m-3m long version priced at $99, a 3m-4.9m long version priced at $139, and a 5m-7m version priced at $179 (this includes standard delivery Australia wide).
They're also suitable for use with marquees and horse floats, and the kit comes with a drawstring carry bag.
