Following on from its top-notch RT1 rooftop tent, Melbourne-based Boss Aluminium has released another premium vehicle-mount camping accessory for hardcore off-road and remote-area adventurers.
Manufactured at Boss Aluminium's Bayswater, Victoria factory, the new Boss 270 Awning boasts a tough, self-supporting structure that doesn't require any supporting poles, thanks to an all-aluminium tri-axis gusseted hinge and chassis design that offers "outstanding structural durability", according to Boss Aluminium.
The 2425mm long unit weighs 26kg and provides 10m2 total shade coverage, and is built to last with plenty of quality components used including 12mm stainless steel bolts and CNC machined acetyl bushes, as well as Australian-made Wax Converters Coolabah T/S 304gsm Dynaproofed canvas.
The 270 degree awning comes with premium guy ropes and pegs, and packs away in an oversized bag made from heavy-duty 520gsm PVC. It's backed by a lifetime workmanship warranty and a five year canvas warranty.

"Up until now, there has not been an awning available anywhere in the world that meets our expectations, hence we went about building one ourselves," Boss Aluminium founder and chief designer, Dave Whitehead said.
It's priced at $2800, with awning mounts to suit the Boss RT1 and Boss roof racks and canopies available for an additional $250. Boss is also developing universal mounts and wall kits to cater to a wider range of buyers.

The Boss 270 Awning is currently available for pre-order, with first deliveries expected in early-2022.
