RV power management specialist BMPRO has released a new range of DC-DC chargers for road travellers who want a no-fuss solution when running small appliances off the beaten track.
BMPRO says its new 25A and 40A ProBoost chargers have been tested in harsh Aussie conditions and are “designed to ensure that you arrive at camp with your auxiliary battery charged up and ready to go”.
“When developing ProBoost, BMPRO set out to launch a rugged, robust and versatile DC-DC charging solution for a dual battery set-up in your 4x4, SUV or ute that also allowed flexible installation for any type of adventure,” BMPRO Marketing Manager Brad Hooper said.
He said the ProBoost chargers also allow travellers to use their devices while parked, without interference to the vehicle’s main battery.
“For off-road adventurers, ProBoost allows you to power your secondary battery to go further and do more,” he said.
The ProBoost chargers are compatible with both lithium LiFePO4 and lead-acid batteries and can be installed in engine bays as well as the vehicle canopy or cabin.
“If running on solar, ProBoost blends both the solar and auxiliary inputs of a vehicle together simultaneously, to ensure there is always a consistent charge to the secondary battery. It includes a full in-built MPPT solar regulator to maximise solar input,” he said.
The chargers are suitable for both standard and smart vehicle alternators and include built-in protection features such as overtemperature, overvoltage and undervoltage protection to guard the battery’s charging capacity.
“This new range compliments BMPRO’s existing MiniBoost range of 12V DC-DC chargers which are specifically designed to work with BMPRO's battery management systems,” he said.
Pricing is $445 to $595 from the BMPRO website.
