4WD accessories giant ARB has released its first hard-shell rooftop tent and, in reference to the sort of places buyers are likely to use it, named it after one of Australia's most picturesque beach towns.
Priced from $2995, or towards the lower end of the ever-expanding hard shell rooftop line-up in Australia, the ARB Esperance is the new range-topper in ARB's roof tent line-up, which includes the cheaper, fold-out Flinders and Simpson III 'soft roof' models.
ARB says the new Esperance RTT weighs 58kg and boasts a "super quick set up and pack down".
The sleek hard shell cover and base is made from ABS with an acrylic compound material, held together with stainless steel hardware, and the main tent material is a 200GSM polycotton fire retardant canvas with a silver-coated 2m water head.
The gas strut-assisted roof tent opens up to offer sleeping for up to two adults and a child on a 4cm thick, high density sponge mattress measuring 1520mm long by 2000mm wide, with 1200mm maximum interior height at the centre.
The ARB Esperance also features a stargazing moonroof, integrated vent, three zippered windows with midge-proof mesh, internal and external LED lighting, internal storage pockets, an internally stored telescopic ladder, and comes with the mounting kit and hardware.
