Carrum Downs, Victoria-based Stockman Products has broadened the appeal of its six-year old Rover teardrop-style camper model with a new entry-level Escape touring variant priced from under $50,000.
The MY26 Rover range has also been updated with new integrated Renogy power systems, and some upgraded features like the fitment of an ARK off-road jockey wheel on all-terrain versions.

Starting at $49,990, the new entry-level Rover Escape gets a more basic caravan park/on-road fit-out than the more off-road/off-grid oriented Rover Intrepid and Ultra models, including a hot-dipped galvanised steel chassis fitted with leaf springs, AL-KO ball coupling and jockey wheel, 10in electric drum brakes, and 17in alloys with all terrain tyres.

Also fitted as standard to the 1160kg tare/1800kg ATM, 5.5m long Rover Escape is a queen innerspring mattress and gas-assisted side doors, a stainless kitchen bench with sink and tap, 150L water tank, and a Renogy power system with a 120Ah lithium battery, 100W roof solar, 50A DC charger and 35A AC charger.
"Buyers add the options they want, from a fridge and cooker to awnings and hot water, or fit gear they already own," explained Stockman Products' Business Development Manager Jake Hower.

Escape buyers can also tick the ($6900) option box for the off-road chassis and Cruisemaster XT coil suspension package which is standard on the pricier Rover Intrepid (from $64,990) and Rover Ultra (from $79,990) variants.
Kitchen appliances including a Swift twin-burner cooker and BBQ and 130L upright Bushman fridge, and a Joolca instant gas shower and Darche shower tent, are other options available on the Escape that come standard on the Rover Intrepid and Ultra.
The top-spec MY26 Rover Ultra also gets a bigger 300Ah battery system with 2000W inverter and 80A AC charger, a diesel hot water heater, and a 240V reverse-cycle air-conditioner as standard.
"Every Rover includes an integrated Renogy power system, with the Renogy One Core control hub mounted in the cabin and a 12-switch panel in the kitchen," Hower continued.
"A software update coming soon will add cabin control of lighting, fans, air conditioning and the inverter through the One Core."

An ARK XO 750 jockey wheel is now fitted as standard on the up-spec Rover Intrepid and Ultra variants, joining the DO-35 hitch, stabiliser upgrade and passenger-side Darche 180 awning already included.
Hower said the driver-side 180 awning with LED lights is available on every model ($2200 option on the Escape), and the kitchen wall and roof kit ties the two awnings together to create near-360-degree coverage around the camper.

The optional Stockman driver-side enclosed change room attaches to the optional driver-side awning, creating a fully enclosed, weatherproof room beside the camper with covered access to the side door.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026, Stockman Products started off building affordable, super lightweight plastic pod trailers, before expanding its range with the locally designed and imported Rover compact camper and Trekka hybrid caravan in recent years.

Hower said that while the original plastic pods are still "100% Aussie", to help reduce costs the Rover's cabin is built in China with the chassis manufactured at Stockman's Carrum Downs facility.
"We are fitting most accessories here too," he said.
