Melbourne's Lotus Caravans has ripped the covers of a new entry-level off-road caravan at the 2024 Victorian Caravan Supershow.
With pricing starting at under $120,000, the new Lotus Sprint is designed to provide a more affordable entry point for buyers seeking a 'tough road' caravan from the the 20 year old Melbourne manufacturer.
Sitting under Lotus' more hardcore off-road models including the Trooper, Off Grid and Freelander, the new Sprint is not only more affordable but comes in with a lighter Tare and maximum 3500kg ATM, making it better suited to towing behind a range of popular tow vehicles.
The new entry-level model (the Sprint was originally a mainstay of the Lotus caravans' line-up before the model was discontinued a few years ago) shares a similar look to other 2024 Anniversary models, including sand taupe sides and a dark grey front and rear., along with the latest stealth decals and 20th Anniversary logo.
"Checkerplate body protection completes the trademark look, whilst the inclusion of a premium awning and external entertainment hatch prove the Sprint is not just built for conquering the outdoors; it's built for enjoying it in style," Lotus Caravans' marketing manager Chris Holland said.
The 2024 Lotus Sprint rides on a G&S/AL-KO Sugagal chassis with AL-KO Enduro X independent suspension and 12in off-road brakes, and is set up for off-grid camping with a 200Ah Enerdrive lithium battery system with 500W rooftop solar and twin 95 litre water tanks.
Despite its entry-level status the new Sprint boasts a "signature Lotus Caravans fit-out" including Italian leather upholstery, interlocking cabinetry, instant hot water unit, 188L fridge, microwave, and wireless reversing camera, among other standard features. A stone guard and splashback behind the lounge are among the options available.
The Sprint is available in five different floorplans, ranging from 19ft 6in to 22ft, with layouts for singles, couples, and families.
Sprint display vans at the recent 2024 Victorian Caravan Supershow included a 20ft family model complete with trendy green-tinged interior, priced at $124,631, and a slightly larger 22ft bunk model priced at $126,659.
"The Sprint promises to open up Lotus Caravans ownership and community to an even broader audience in 2024," Holland said.
