Sydney RV has officially taken over the reins from Everything RV as the retail outlet for big-selling Melbourne caravan brand New Age in the important Sydney market.
It’s the latest change to its nationwide dealer network for the 14-year-old Melbourne manufacturer, after New Age Caravans was taken over by auto specialist Walkinshaw in 2019 and amid ongoing updates to its popular range of caravans and pop-tops as well as its unloved camper trailer range.
Prior to the industry-changing COVID-19 pandemic, New Age established a number of ambitious single brand, standalone outlets across Australia and New Zealand as its annual production soared to in excess of 2000 units, including opening a new flagship store in south-western Sydney in early-2019.
However, as production delays stretched order banks out to 18 to 24 months during the height of the pandemic, New Age has stepped back from ‘stand-alone’ flagship stores.
Over the past two years, New Age Sydney rebranded to Everything RV and currently offers a range of different brands including big-selling Crusader, fledgling Hike caravans and the South African imported Echo 4x4.
The latest New Age caravans are now on display at the Apollo-owned, Penrith-based Sydney RV dealership, which also sells a wide range of other caravans and campers from Adria, Coromal, Majestic, Windsor, Design RV, Essential, and Lumberjack.
In a recent interview, New Age Caravans’ Managing Director Chris Polites hinted that in the future there’s the possibility that New Age vans will also be sold at other Apollo RV outlets across the country.
New Age also recently moved its retail operations in Melbourne, with the New Age line-up now being sold at new multi-brand outlet The Touring Hub among other caravan brands including Concept, Newlands and TTH. It’s also opened up a sub-site, New Age Caravans Knox, in Melbourne’s outer-east suburbs, also run by the CD Motor Group.
Before that New Age opened a ritzy standalone Melbourne dealership in 2019, before closing it down and moving to smaller premises about one kilometre up the road.
In a media statement, Everything RV CEO Chad Kanj said he is confident the new dealer arrangements in Sydney are a step in the right direction for both brands.
“We have played a big role in the success of New Age within the Sydney region, but the time has come for Everything RV to embrace the opportunities that have come knocking,” he said.
“The diversification to represent other reputable manufacturers such as Crusader Caravans, Hike Caravans and Echo 4x4 gives us the edge we need to be able to continually service our region with options from some good contenders.”
Everything RV said it will continue to offer after-sales service and support to existing as well as future New Age caravan owners. However, all warranty claims will be assessed and managed by the Sydney RV Group.
“Any customer that has an existing contract with New Age Caravans Sydney will enjoy the delivery of their caravan through Everything RV,” Kanj said.
