Sydney's Cub Campers has unveiled a production version of its newest pop-top hybrid model, the F14, at the 2024 Let’s Go Brisbane Caravan and Outdoor Sale at the Brisbane RNA Showgrounds.
First revealed in digital form back in April and now priced from $74,990, the new F14 camper is "a revolutionary new fusion of caravan and camper trailer", according to the 56-year old Sydney camper manufacturer, and comes with an extra-tall pop-top roof that raises and lowers electrically to deliver up to 2.035m of standing room inside.
Unlike Cub's hybrid caravans, the F14 hybrid misses out on an internal ensuite; with a king bed, a three-person dinette/lounge with twin adjustable tables and a rear kitchenette with sink and mixer tap filling the interior space. However, it does come standard with an external shower with a built-in shower tent, as well as Portaloo storage.
The outdoor stainless steel kitchen is the same as on other Cub hybrids and includes a three burner stove and sink. The F14 is also the first Cub hybrid to feature an external galley pantry above the outside kitchen. Cub says the F14 also stands apart with 50 per cent more storage and bench space than other Cub hybrids, as well as a new darker exterior colour scheme.
Other standard features on the F14 include a king pillow top mattress, Fusion Bluetooth stereo, Fiamma awning, 150Ah lithium battery and 360W solar panels, a 100L freshwater tank, LED lighting, an ARK jockey wheel and independent suspension, stone guard and mud flaps, and a Redarc Redvision display.
Options include an underbed air conditioner, air bag suspension, DO-35 coupling, a 3000W inverter, microwave, composting toilet, leatherette upholstery and a dust reduction system.
The F14 is designed for couples who want to head off-road, and its Tare weight of approximately 1600kg and ball weight of around 190kg makes it the lightest Cub hybrid on the market. To make towing even easier it also has a low profile travel height of just 2.06m.
"The F14 is the perfect model for those looking for an affordable hybrid that fits under a typical garage or car port," Cub Campers says on its website.
The F14 pop-top is the fifth model launched in Cub's hybrid range since mid-2022, when Cub launched its first ever canvas-free model, the C16 caravan.
