RVM Australia has introduced a new Code of Practice & Compliance Standards for its members in its latest push to achieve total industry compliance.
The new Code of Practice is effectively a 'how to' manual for RVM Australia’s 78 manufacturer members to achieve the latest RVMAP accreditation; a tough new audit process introduced early-2013 as part of a comprehensive overhaul of the peak industry body for Australia’s RV manufactured industry.
The new booklet has been updated to reflect the latest regulations and is one of several initiatives designed to give caravan buyers greater confidence in the RVM Australia ‘badge of approval’ displayed on members' products.
“Our technical advisers worked with a strategic advisory group of industry experts to make the new Code a more useful and comprehensive industry reference than ever,” RVM Australia CEO David Duncan said.
“Combined with online access to Australian Standards, it gives (members) everything they need to comply with the official rules and regulations and our own special RVM Australia requirements.
“These and our other technical projects will ensure the RVM Australia Accredited badge is, more than ever, an absolute assurance that an RV is fully compliant,” he said.
Formed in 1976, the national, not-for-profit body made major changes to its structure and procedures after numerous criticisms including accusations of being a ‘toothless tiger’. Australia’s largest RV manufacturer, Jayco also resigned as a member more than two years ago.
