Big-selling Melbourne manufacturer New Age has released a new Limited Edition family bunk version of its Manta Ray caravan, packed with exclusive features and ready to tow away now from a number of dealers for around $75,000.
New Age says the limited-edition Manta Ray MR19BE LE family caravan features a new-look internal and external finish, and is the first New Age caravan to feature the latest version of the Walkinshaw-developed 2.0 galvanised chassis, fitted with leaf spring suspension, 10in electric brakes and a 50mm ball coupling.
"The result of the most extensive development and testing program we’ve ever undertaken, the new Walkinshaw 2.0 chassis is lighter than its predecessor, more durable and offers significant improvements in weight distribution, geometric quality and plumbing and electrical installation and serviceability," the Walkinshaw-owned manufacturer said.
The 19ft (body length) Limited Edition van features a four or five-berth layout including front east-west double parents' bed, and double or triple bunks along with a wall-mounted washing machine and separate shower and toilet at the rear. There's also a cafe dinette style leatherette lounge and kitchen with 175L fridge/freezer, gas cooktop/grille, stainless sink and microwave.
Also part of the Manta Ray LE package are twin 110L freshwater tanks and a 110L grey water tank, a new heavy-duty water pump housing, internal and external Fusion sound panels, rooftop air-con, a 28in TV and antenna, 110Ah AGM battery with 150W rooftop solar, electronic stability control and twin 9kg gas bottles.
The Limited Edition van weighs in at around 2300-2500kg (Tare) and 2900-3100kg (ATM) depending on final specification.
New Age says the Manta Ray MR19BE LE caravan has "strictly limited availability", with caravans now in stock at a number of New Age dealers including outlets in NSW, Victoria and Western Australia.
Meanwhile, New Age has also freshened up its entry-level Road Owl caravan range for 2022, with the four couple and family full-height variants and two-pop-tops given a new exterior look including "aluminium composite smooth rear wall panelling, a unique rear mould with recessed spare wheel housing, a restyled front-end and striking new graphics", according to New Age.
Internal improvements across the 2022 Road Owl range include a new Holland blind on the main door, upgraded edge banding on all cabinetry and partitions, redesigned seating, a new microwave surround, and new reading lights with built-in USB ports.
