New Age Melbourne goes undercover

New Age joins Lotus, Supreme, and Avan with undercover shopping in Melbourne's north

Another glitzy indoor showroom has opened up in Australia’s caravan manufacturing ‘heartland’ in Melbourne’s north.

Earlier this year the New Age Melbourne dealership relocated to a bigger 1.7 hectare site along the busy Sydney Rd in Campbellfield, which now incorporates both large outdoor and indoor display areas.

New Melbourne showroom has indoor display area for upmarket models

At around 1500sq.m, the new indoor showroom has room for around dozen vans, mostly pricier, more upmarket models from New Age's caravan range, including slide-outs and larger off-roaders.

The outdoor forecourt currently has on display another 50 or so new and used vans, with a good representation of the popular new entry-level Road Owl models on show when Caravancampingsales visited.

Around 60 new and used vans are displayed outside

The new dealership also includes a decent-sized service and repair bay, and a dedicated customer hand-over bay with room for two vans and their tow vehicles.

The front building at 1537-1549 Sydney Road, Campbellfield now houses the main reception and office area, including a small RV accessories shop, and had on display a discounted Ranger Wildtrak ute from a Ford dealership (also owned by the PM Group) -- one of a number of 'one-stop-shop' deals for any New Age customers also requiring a tow vehicle.

New Age buyers can also do a deal on a new tow vehicle

New Age Melbourne General Manager, Henry Sayers, said he was also planning to “recreate a luxury car experience” by providing a dedicated ‘décor’ room, where buyers can decide on the interior look of their van from a large variety of samples on display.

About the only other thing missing at the new flagship dealer is an example of New Age’s long-awaited Wayfinder camper trailer, which Sayers said has been delayed due to production-related issues. He said he was hoping to time an 'official' opening event at the dealership around the arrival of the first production Wayfinders later this year.

There were three hand-overs on the morning that Caravancampingsales visited!

The move to the higher profile Sydney Road site, which includes 120 metres of street frontage, is the third significant change for New Age’s Melbourne dealership in recent years, after the PM Automotive Group took over and rebranded the Little Joey’s Caravan Centre next door to the New Age factory in Cooper St, Somerton, before relocating to the new address about 9km away.

The new New Age indoor facility joins a number of other impressive indoor RV showrooms along or close to Sydney Rd, including the Avan Supercentre, Apollo RV Sales Melbourne and Lotus' new Melbourne outlet, Freestyle RVs.
