New Age club spreads its wings

After a successful inaugural gathering of the New Age Owners Club at Victoria’s Phillip Island in September, the fledgling, national club is heading to picturesque Nelson Bay just north of Sydney this week-end for another adventure.

Among the 19 caravanning couples and families expected to attend will be flamboyant Club president Bryan Crow, who will be giving his unique,

gloss black 22ft ‘Midnight Jewel’ caravan another public outing.

Also joining the ‘New Agers’ at the Halifax Holiday Park in Nelson Bay, will be two representatives from the New Age factory, along with a team from local New Age dealer, Hinterland Caravans in Morisset, who will display the latest 22ft Jewel and Wallaby pop-top models.

Bryan said if won’t be all fun and games over the long week-end, with daily activities planned including educational sessions on topics ranging from awnings to annex set-up.

Not surprising given the New Age factory's Melbourne location, the inaugural New Age Owners Club gathering that ran September 12-15 at Cowes Caravan Park on Phillip Island attracted a large crowd of 31 owners as well as family members.

“Over the weekend, owners spent a large amount of time talking… mainly about previous travels, future planned travels and their vans and generally getting to know each other,” Bryan recalled.

“Everyone came away feeling as though they were a part of a new and exciting family of like-minded owners.  There are sure to be long and happy friendships develop, and this weekend was just the start of something really exciting for everyone who attended.”

Since forming in July, the New Age Club has grown to more than 150 members. The next gathering is scheduled for Clare Valley, South Australia from December 5-7, with up to eight events planned for 2015 including an eight-day extravaganza from June 13-21 on the Gold Coast.
