Bailey Australia has expanded its locally-built Rangefinder models with a new six-berth caravan model called the Asgard – a celestial name coming from Norse mythology – following customer demand for more kids’ accommodation. It’s identical in size at 21ft to the existing Rangefinder Gemini, but with three bunks instead of two in its right hand rear corner, opposite its separate shower and toilet bathroom.
The Asgard similarly has a front entry door, an island front queen bed, flanked by matching deep robes, a well-equipped kitchen with cooktop, mini-grill and microwave oven, a Thetford 185-litre three-way fridge-freezer, a 2.5kg top-loading washing machine and 2 x 105-litre fresh water tanks as standard.
Weighing in at 1950kg Tare and with a ball weight of 130kg and a payload of 500kg, the Asgard is ‘Prado-friendly’ and comes standard with roller-rocker leaf spring tandem axle suspension, but can be upgraded to Vehicle Components’ CRS trailing arm and coil spring independent suspension underpinnings, depending on the buyer’s intended travel and tow vehicle capability.
Introduction-priced at $64,990 including Dexter Sway Control (DSC), the Asgard is the forerunner of a new model offensive planned by the ‘dual citizen’ Bailey for 2018 that will see the introduction of a third new Bailey model range, plus revised layouts on existing locally-built Bailey models.
