You don’t have to be an off-road junkie to attend next month’s National 4×4 Outdoors Show and Fishing & Boating Expo, with the organiser promising the biggest line-up of caravan and camping exhibitors in the show’s history at the Melbourne Showgrounds from August 22-24.
The 200-strong list of exhibitors, to be spread out over 34,000 square metres, will include budget camper trailer manufacturers such as Ezy Trail, GIC, Blue Water and Market Direct right up to premium manufacturers including Aussie Swag, Conqueror, Mountain Trail, Track Trailer and Ultimate.
Following the lead of the inaugural Explore Australia Expo
, held at the Melbourne Showgrounds in June, the 4x4 Show will introduce “try before you buy” activities on a new purpose-built 4WD proving ground, where punters will get the chance to test drive or experience the latest 4WD vehicles and accessories.
Major automotive manufacturers including Isuzu Ute, Suzuki and Volkswagen will display their latest off-road models, while presenters on the Waeco Outback Stage include 4x4 identity Roothy, Terrain Tamer’s head engineer Allan Gray and Chris and Elayne Clash, who have travelled 350,000km around the globe in their backyard built buggy.
All visitors to the show will get the chance to win a new Isuzu MU-X wagon kitted out with the latest off-road accessories valued at $60,000, and Australian rock music legends Mark Seymour of Hunters and Collectors fame and Ross Wilson, will play live at the show from 1pm on both the Saturday and Sunday.
