Money-no-object motorhome hits the road

Multi-million dollar, triple slide-out Mercedes land yacht can carry a Ferrari sports car

If you thought the Australian-built $1million Kenworth Dreamliner and $2million SLRV MAN 8x8 motorhomes were priced on the high side, feast your eyes on the latest uber-luxury Mercedes-Benz Actros-based Dembell motorhome due to be officially launched at this year's Caravan Salon in Germany.

Inspired by Formula 1 race day motorhomes and fitted out to luxury yacht standards, the European-built Dembell triple axle motorhome comes with three slide-outs and with the option of three different sized on-board garages to carry a variety of premium toys, from a Ducati motorcycle to a Ferrari California sports car.

Aptly described as a "land yacht' by the new European company, the Dembell motorhome is also available in three different upmarket trim levels, with standard equipment depending on variant extending to roof mounted solar panels and on-board generator, a 55in TV with Bose sound system, and various Miele kitchen appliances including a microwave and standard oven, induction cooktop, 224 litre fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.

There's also a 1000 litre fresh water, 550 litre grey water and 350 litre black water tanks, and a big motorised 6.3m x 3.5m roll-out awning with wind sensor.

As well as being one of the most lavishly appointed motorhomes on the market, it also boasts one of the smoothest or 'cleanest' exteriors.

"We hid all the frames, the protruding parts, the windows and even the door handles. We used hidden hinges as well," the company says on its website.

The millionaires' motorhome also boasts several technical innovations including a central heating system, "designed like it is in a family house: underfloor and radiator heating, even supplemented with surface-heated side and skylight windows".

Lavishly appointed with premium materials including a wooden floor, the roomy interior layout include four air-conditioned, massaging and air suspended leather seats up front, for the driver and three passengers, with sleeping on a fold-down queen bed at the front or another large double in the rear master bedroom.

There are slide-outs for the central kitchen galley and the dinette/lounge area opposite, with a large ensuite towards the rear with separate shower, toilet and sink, finished with stone and ceramic. Glass windows and a massive central skylight complete the six-star apartment feel.

Dumbell is yet to release full specifications or pricing for what it simply calls "the motorhome", although we wouldn't expect much change from AUD$3million for range-topping versions of the left-hand drive motorhome.
