Are you an experienced event organiser, with strong communication skills and the ability to enjoy a good laugh?
Then a new full-time role created by Victoria’s peak RV industry association, could be right up your alley.
Due to a recent restructure the Caravan Trade & Industries Association of Victoria (CTIAV) is looking to hire a permanent Events Manager to organize its four annual RV shows, including one of the largest in Australia, the Melbourne Caravan & Camping Supershow held each year in March.
Peter Wright, who also served as an Executive Officer at the CTIAV, previously organized the shows on a contract basis.
According to an online advertisement, the CTIAV is offering a salary up to $80,000 and is looking for some-one with at least five years’ experience managing major events, with strong project management skills, excellent relationship building experience, a strong eye for detail, and “the ability to have fun and laugh a lot”.
The creation of the new Events Manager role is the result of a review conducted over the last three months, aimed to “position the CTIAV to maximize future growth and ensure the delivery of better and more professional membership services”.
It also follows recommendations in an Industry Blueprint released around mid-2012.
This year’s RV show season has had a relatively sluggish start, with crowd numbers at both the South Australian and Melbourne shows significantly down compared to previous years.
The CTIAV represents around 200 employers who manufacture, sell and repair caravans and recreational vehicles. Other initiatives it has undertaken recently include the Go Make Some Memories’ marketing campaign and the purchase of new modern head office in West Melbourne.
