MDC has revealed details of its updated Forte SR hardtop caravan range, ahead of its official unveiling at the NSW Caravan, Camping & Holiday Supershow later this month.
Although pricing has increased by up to $8000 in some cases, MDC says it has packed more standard features into its entry-level Chinese-built on-road caravans, which were originally launched back in 2024.
It's also tweaked the model line-up, deleting the original 9ft and 17ft variants while adding a new 20ft triple bunk family 'van and a new 19ft couple's layout with rear door access.

The Series 2 Forte SR range now includes seven different variants in total, including 11ft, 14ft, 16ft, 19ft, 20ft and 22ft body lengths with both single and tandem axle chassis.
All variants benefit from a boost in off-grid power, with a 300Ah lithium battery, 525W rooftop solar, and 45A DC-DC and 60A AC charging, all included as standard. The exception is the smallest 11ft variant, which gets 350W solar. Also part of the electrical package is a Projecta 1600W inverter and seven-inch touchscreen.

MDC has also added a dedicated external solar input, allowing the addition of up to 600W of portable solar. Tuson Electronic Stability Control -- a built-in trailer safety feature -- is also now standard across the range.
Like before, the Series 2 Forte SR 'vans feature composite body construction, along with a hot dipped galvanised chassis, ball coupling and independent trailing arm suspension with coil springs and shocks.
There's new styling both inside and out, with MDC describing the fresh exterior look as a "sleek, automotive-inspired design" that delivers "a more modern and refined on-road presence".

Refreshed interiors come with matte white and sage green cabinetry, oak-look benchtops, heritage oatmeal upholstery and gunmetal grey fixtures.
MDC founder and Market Direct Group Managing Director, Vaughan Hindley, said the new Series 2 SR range sets a new benchmark for what buyers should expect in the entry-level on-road caravan segment.
“When we launched the original Forte SR Series in 2024, the response from customers was incredibly strong. With the Forte SR Series 2, we’ve taken everything people loved about that range and made it better - more capability, more refinement, and more included as standard," Hindley said.

The value-packed 'no options' marketing approach is similar to what MDG is offering with its more upmarket Gold Class Caravans sub-brand.
"In a market where key features are often optional or reserved for higher price points, MDC has taken a different approach - integrating capability, comfort and technology into every model from the outset," he said.
According to the MDC website, weights are similar if not higher in some cases than before, ranging from 1680kg Tare/2100kg ATM for the 11ft SR11, to 2880kg Tare/3500kg ATM for the 22ft Forte SR22.
