Big-selling imported brand MDC has added a 9ft off-road pop-top couple's camper to its growing range of compact hybrid models.
The new Forte 9+ hybrid camper is the smallest and cheapest hybrid caravan in the MDC range, with pricing for the 1400kg Tare couple's camper starting at $34,990.
For that you get a fair bit of gear fitted as standard, including a gas hot water system and a diesel space heater, a wireless rear view camera, a free-standing 270 degree awning and full annexe, and an external kitchen with sink with mixer tap and a three gas burner cooktop.
The MDC Forte 9+ camper is set up for off-road touring with a galvanised chassis, off-road coupling and independent coil suspension, along with 12in brakes and 16in alloy wheels with mud tyres, while off-grid camping features include a 200Ah lithium battery system with a 1000W inverter and 525W of rooftop solar, along with 120L fresh water capacity, two 9kg gas bottle holders and twin jerry cans.
A rear entry door and pull-out steps provide access to a compact two berth interior that includes a queen size 150mm thick foam mattress, small dinette-lounge, and a few cupboards, drawers and shelving for storage.
Also included as standard in the new 2000kg ATM camper is an audio unit with internal and external speakers, a wall-mounted picnic table, external shower, and various external and internal power sockets and lighting. There's also an external fridge slide and a TV bracket with electrical connections, but a fridge and TV are optional extras.
MDC Camper Trailers & Offroad Caravans' Managing Director Vaughan Hindley said the latest Forte 9+ camper is designed for ultimate flexibility without skimping on the features, due to the fact it's relatively light to tow and easy to store at 4.6m long and 2.3m wide overall and under 2.5m high when closed.
"The Forte 9+ will redefine the way you experience the great outdoors, as this hybrid camper effortlessly blends comfort, style, and off-road capability at an unbelievable price point," he said. "It bridges the gap between exploration and relaxation allowing you to create lasting memories and escape with confidence."
