A couple of years ago Melbourne's Lotus Caravans released an eye-catching 'Sand Taupe' exterior colour option to match the Desert Storm-like exterior paintwork available on the old-school LandCruiser 70 Series.
Now the Australian manufacturer of the lightweight Road Warrior Adventurer trailer is getting in on the retro colour-matching theme; with a limited edition, '70s-theme model designed to match up perfectly behind the latest Suzuki Jimny Heritage compact 4x4.
Designed to honour the small SUV's off-road heritage dating back to the 1970s, the limited-run 2023 Jimny Heritage Edition adds coloured mud flaps, a Jimny Heritage cargo tray, retro-inspired Heritage decals, build number badging and an exclusive Jimny Heritage pack. Four Heritage Edition colours are available: Jungle Green, Bluish Black, Medium Grey and White.
The matching Heritage Edition Road Warrior Adventure Trailer can be ordered in a Sandy exterior with retro decals, or a similar Suzuki Jimny Heritage all-black exterior colour with Heritage decals.
Road Warrior Campers' founder Kris Umhauer said that the Road Warrior camper which has a Tare weight starting around 230kg, was proving popular with owners of the four-cylinder engined Suzuki Jimny which can tow up to 1300kg.
"We have been building a few in Beige (Sandy) colour with retro and heritage striping to complement the release of the Suzuki Jimny Heritage," Road Warrior Campers' founder Kris Umhauer explained.
"Our Road Warrior campers now have an All-Terrain model that is suitable for semi off road, National parks touring and (this has) has gained popularity with Suzuki Jimny owner groups."
The Road Warrior Adventurer AT Retro option includes the Suzuki Jimny wheel stud pattern and 10in electric brakes fitted to an AL-KO Torsion independent axle, along with steel CSA rims and Kumho 215/75 R15 mud tyres, Black Series alloy drawers and special exterior paint and retro pinstripes.
