Long-standing Sydney-based springs and suspension component specialist Lovells has entered the competitive tow coupling market with its own range of locally-made 3500kg and 5500kg Haul Ace Hitches, taking on Cruisemaster’s popular DO-35 and DO-45 models.
Similar in appearance to the self-locking Hitch-Ezy couplings that they previously supplied with their popular GVM/GCM suspension upgrades, the new Haul Ace models have an automatic locking feature for one person operation, and boast easy hitching and disconnection, even on uneven ground, without special tools according to Lovells.

Lovells initially supplied the Victorian designed and built Hitch-Ezy coupling with its suspension upgrades, but its similarly ’Lovells Blue’ painted products are now produced in-house and undercut its previous supplier’s products at RRPs of $899.95 for the 5.5 tonne coupling and $499.99 for the lighter weight 3.5 tonne version.
Both are designed for off-road towing and can be supplied with a torsion tongue that incorporates a heavy duty weight distribution hitch to allow the van to tow shock-free and level off-road.

Each comes complete with a Lovells' Australian-made adjustable height drop shank and tongue assembly, with a 600lb (272kg) or 1200lb (544kg) Weight Distribution system optional.
Lovells claims the hitches are maintenance free, fully sealed from dust and dirt and can be supplied with an anti-theft lock.
