The organisers of the ambitious ‘Longest Line’ charity event in Outback Queensland are confident that a new world record has been set for the longest parade of camping vehicles.
Although yet to be confirmed, the Australian Motorhoming Lions Club posted on social media that 863 vehicles comprised the rolling convoy along the Aramac-Barcaldine Road, close to the tiny Queensland Outback town of Barcaldine.

“Some 930 vehicles registered from every state and territory in Australia, three couples came across the ditch from the Land of the Long White Cloud (NZ) and we even had one couple come all the way from UK," the AMLC said.
They also claimed another record at the event, for the Longest Continuous Image made of LED Lights (5974.66 metres).

“We are quietly confident that we have achieved both new records, however we must now wait for official sanction from Guinness World Records. This can take up to 10 weeks,” they said.
Barcaldine was also the scene back in 2007 for a similar world record attempt for the longest line of motorhomes, which fell short by 43 vehicles of the still current record of 672 camping vehicles, set in Italy four years earlier.
