Limited-edition Isuzu built for towing
D-Max Farm Mate utes fitted with $5000 worth of accessories including tow bar kit
In the market for a tough new tow vehicle with up to three tonne towing capacity?
Specialist ute importer Isuzu Ute Australia is offering ABN holders two extra-value versions of its D-Max one-tonne utes.
While the Farm Mate limited edition models are aimed at the rural market, they would also suit recreational and family buyers wanting a heavy-duty workhorse suitable for large capacity towing and off-road activities.
The Farm Mate pack includes around $5000 of accessories and is available on the three-seater EX single cab/chassis and SX space cab four-seater cab/chassis utes.
The Isuzu-endorsed accessories fitted include fully galvanized steel-bodied dropside tray body, with tubular headboard and stirrups, cab rear window mesh guard, chequerplate floor and taillight guards; steel bull bar, powder-coated in satin black; tow bar kit with wiring to a 7-pin flat plug, square-section removable tongue, tow ball and D-shackles, and Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity.
As well as three-tonne maximum tow capacity, the Farm Mates also feature a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine, 225mm ground clearance, low-range first gear with anti-stall, steel plate sump and transfer case guards and a fuel tank shield.
Both Farm Mates offer standard air-conditioning, rear LSD, dual airbags, and CD/FM/AM/MP3 audio.
The space cab Farm Mate adds ABS with EBD (which disables on steep loose surface slopes to allow wheel lock-up), power windows, remote entry door locks, cruise control, front bucket seats with a storage binned centre floor console, rear window demister and door protection strips.
According to Isuzu, "the Farm Mates also have the longest endorsed tray load floor length from cab to axle among conventional-cab one-tonners".
Only 100 D-Max Farm Mates will be produced although final availability will depend on demand.
Driveaway pricing for the D-Max Farm Mate single cab is $33,990 and Farm Mate space cab, $39,490.
