Queensland's Lifestyle Campers has released a new hybrid pop-top aimed at young families and couples who want a few more interior comforts when camping in remote locations.
According to Lifestyle Campers, the new single axle 17ft 9in (external body length) Iconn E4 off-road hybrid "is an evolution of our popular (Iconn) E2 model; it’s still an off-road hybrid caravan but slightly larger, designed to maximise space with a complete ensuite and queen-size island bed as standard".
External highlights include an A-frame toolbox with room for the twin 4kg gas bottles and firewood, a front tunnel boot for storing larger items, and a pull-out kitchen with timber benchtop, three burner gas cooktop, sink and mixer tap.
The Lifestyle Iconn E4 also comes standard with a single, rear mounted spare tyre, recovery points, a dust suppression system, wind-out awning and independent trailing arm coil suspension with a DO-35 coupling, ARK jockey wheel and 12in electric brakes.
The off-grid battery system combines top-shelf Victron and Enerdrive components including a 2000W inverter, two 350W rooftop solar panels and a 200Ah lithium battery, with three 80 litre fresh water and one grey water tanks also included.
The two- to five-berth Iconn E4 measures 6890mm long and 2120mm wide overall, and has a travel height of 2640mm and a set-up height of 3040mm. Production versions are expected to have a Tare weight of around 2200kg, with a 3000kg ATM.
Internally, there's a kitchenette with a sink with glass lid, a microwave and a 175 litre Thetford upright fridge/freezer, along with an island queen bed with bedside cupboards and reading lights. The mattress lifts up to allow use of the underbed storage space which also features some pull-out drawers.
Layout options include a dinette/bed with folding top bunk bed and a combination shower toilet, and a standalone dinette with separate shower and toilet. There's also a three bunk option with no dinette seating.
The Iconn E4 also comes with an electric hot water unit, 24in TV and an air conditioner mounted to the electric-lifting rooftop that will be a standard fitment on production versions.
A pre-production version of the Iconn E4 was displayed at last month's 2023 NSW Caravan Supershow, with the final production versions likely to have a few changes when released later this year.
The Iconn E4 is priced from $77,950, although early-birds can take advantage of the $69,950 'introductory' entry pricing. Options include an additional lithium battery, diesel space heater, Sirocco fan and front load washing machine.
Like the smaller Lifestyle Iconn E2 hybrid campers, the Iconn E4 is largely manufactured in China but with final fit-out and finishing taking place at Lifestyle's Queensland production facility in Slacks Creek, where the 20-year old manufacturer's more upmarket Reconn Hypercamper range is built.
