Melbourne's Leader Caravans had some enticing show-special models on display at the 2025 Queensland Caravan & Camping Supershow.
Displayed on the busy Australian Caravan Centre dealer stand, the two new Leader family blacktop caravans included a value-packed 21ft 6in Gold LE '20K Series' tandem-axle model and a more budget-priced 18ft Gold LE single-axle bunk van.
Introduced earlier this year and commemorating the 20,000th chassis produced by the Melbourne manufacturer of Supreme and Leader caravans over the past 39 years, the '20K Series Pack' on the popular Gold LE 21ft 6in tourer adds extras including 20K Series decals, an extended drawbar and black toolbox, a Dometic Freshjet Series 7 air-conditioner, and Redarc electricals with a 300Ah lithium battery, 3000W inverter and an additional rooftop solar panel (620W in total).
Also included in the 20K Series Pack is a Fusion audio panel, Camec 4kg front loader washing machine, four 12V fans, a Gold decor pack and 20K Series upholstery upgrades including footrests and integrated headrests for the L-shape lounge/dinette, plus there's a full-height kitchen pantry.
The 2662kg Tare/3312kg ATM, 21ft 6in Leader Gold LE 'van is normally priced from $85,990, with the optioned-up 20K Series show van advertised at $96,990. However, the Australian Caravan Centre was offering a special deal of $89,990 for the first five units sold, for a $7000 saving to any show-goers willing to put down a deposit during the show.
Also making its show debut was the 18ft Leader Gold LE single-axle family model, with a new, more family-friendly bunk bed and laundry layout.
The floorplan features an east-west double bed with single robe (with the option to extend the bed to the onside wall for longer legs), a central kitchen and bench dinette, and a rear bunk and ensuite room.
The double bunks have been moved from the rear to the offside wall to allow room for a corner shower as well as an optional 3kg top-load washing machine, not far from the vanity, sink and cassette toilet.
Leader has also opted for a traditional white ribbed cladding (albeit with a stylish carbon-fibre look finish) instead of smoother but heavier composite exterior panels, along with Trailparts rubber torsion suspension to keep the weight down to 2116kg (Tare), and deliver a decent 500kg payload (ATM is 2616kg).
The new budget family 'van also gets 190L fresh and 95L grey water tanks, two 9kg gas bottles, a Fusion stereo, gas-electric hot water, microwave, gas-electric cooktop, roof-mounted air-conditioner, wall fans, a rear camera and is wired up for a TV.
The show van's 'as displayed' price of $83,640 included optional black tapware, 3.3kg washing machine, 200Ah lithium battery (to go with the standard 420W rooftop solar and Redarc electricals), a square 'no-drainer' sink, and 188L compressor fridge/freezer.
