LDV T60 Max gets 3500kg towing upgrade

Bigger towing capacity, AEB and other driver aids add a couple of grand to Chinese-built ute

LDV Australia has updated its venerable T60 Max pick-up truck with an increased braked towing capacity and some extra driver aids to help keep it on sale here as long as possible.

Now able to tow 3500kg and stop itself in an emergency, the 2025 LDV T60 Max is predictably dearer than the 2024 version – by up to $2105 – but the brunt of the inflation is more than justified by the extra inclusions.

LDV T60 Max can now legally tow up to 3500kg

The range now opens from $45,253 drive-away for the entry-level Pro variant and crests at $53,674 for the Plus Mega Tub.

New for 2025 on the Pro are black roof rails, a microfibre steering wheel with paddle shifters, electronic power steering autonomous emergency braking, DAB digital radio, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, high-definition reversing camera and that 3500kg braked towing capacity.

LDV T60 interior also gets a few new features for 2025

The flashier Plus grade gets all these upgrades as well as a high-definition surround-view monitor, with the rest of the 2024 equipment list carried across unchanged.

LDV hasn’t detailed how it went about upping the T60 Max’s braked towing capacity from 3000kg to 3500kg, but we do know there hasn’t been any major changes made to the ute’s 2.0-litre twin-turbo-diesel engine or its ZF eight-speed automatic transmission – the six-speed manual has been axed.

No changes to LDV T60's engine or drivetrain specs

How much does the 2025 LDV T60 Max cost?
Pro – $45,253 (+$2105)
Plus – $52,095 (+$1579)
Plus Mega Tub – $53,674 (+$1579)
* Prices are drive-away
