LDV Australia launches cut-price factory-backed campervan

Turn-key Deliver 9 campervan available soon at selected LDV dealers, priced from $89,990 drive-away

LDV Australia is introducing a factory-built campervan version of the Deliver 9 panel van, which will be available at selected LDV dealers from next month.

When it arrives in showrooms, the Chinese-built 2025 LDV Deliver 9 Campervan will be the only factory-built turn-key camper available Down Under. The best part is, it’s less than $100k.

Finer details

The 2025 LDV Deliver 9 Campervan is set to arrive in Australian showrooms next month, bringing an affordable, factory-built option to a market that, until now, has been dominated by pricier, non-factory-backed options – most of which are priced well above $100k.

The biggest wow-factor is the price, with the Chinese brand’s Deliver 9 Campervan priced from $89,990 drive-away, making it a downright bargain compared to many aftermarket fit-out options (although it is missing some features found on more expensive rivals, like audio and TV entertainment).

Companies like Snowy River, Jayco, Frontline and Trakka, complete ‘second-stage’ fit-outs of commercial vans Down Under including the Volkswagen Crafter, Renault Master and Fiat Ducato; however, the Deliver 9 Campervan is built as a camper in China and imported here, rather than being locally modified in Australia.

Based on the long-wheelbase high-roof Deliver 9 – measuring up at 5940mm long and around 2500mm wide – the camper comes powered by the same 108kW/375Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine and comes mated to a six-speed automatic.

It also features a maximum braked towing capacity of 2.8-tonnes (or 750kg unbraked) , along with a payload of 729kg.

That’s significantly less compared to the 1.6-tonne payload of the van it’s based on, thanks to around 900kg of extra equipment fitted to the camper, bringing its tare weight up to a hefty 3271kg.

The standard 80-litre fuel tank goes untouched, while the addition of a 100-litre fresh water tank, 100L grey water tank and a removable 16-litre tank for toilet waste will also add some more weight.

Now for the good stuff – what you get...

For $90k, the LDV Deliver 9 comes fully kitted for extended camping trips, including a kitchen sink, 96-litre fridge (with 20-litre freezer), microwave, toilet, induction cooktop, diesel hot water unit, double bed and two showers: one inside and another outside.

Seating for four includes swiveling front pews to allow all four passengers a spot at a stowable table, while the fitment of ISOFIX child seat anchorage points in the rear seats means child seats can be fitted.

Outside, electric retractable side steps and a retractable awning on the passenger side also come standard, while a sliding fly-screen ‘door’ should help keep bugs out.

The double bed platform can be assembled or disassembled in less than a minute, according to LDV, and a large storage compartment underneath brings room for extra gear.

A built-in 2.56kWh lithium-ion battery pack is also fitted, topped up by a 190-watt solar panel on the roof and can run certain appliances via a 2000-watt inverter.

When hooked up to 240V mains power – at a caravan park, for example – a roof-mounted air-conditioning unit can be operated within the van.

“Campervans have grown in popularity over the past decade as an increasing number of Australians choose to explore the great outdoors on their own terms, their own timetable and in their own vehicle,” LDV Australia General Manager Dinesh Chinnappa said.

“This factory-built campervan is decked out with everything you need for a getaway – ready to go, straight off the showroom floor. We believe the LDV Deliver 9 campervan will help expand an emerging market segment.”

The LDV Deliver 9 campervan measures 5940mm long, 2466mm wide (including mirrors) and 2925mm high.

It's backed by a three year/160,000km warranty on the vehicle, and two year/unlimited km warranty on the campervan bodywork and internal fit-out. Electrical appliance are covered by a one year/unlimited km warranty, with three years/unlimited km roadside assistance also included.

LDV Australia says service intervals are six months/5000km (whichever occurs first), with routine service intervals at 12 months/30,000km (whichever occurs first).
