Melbourne’s Stockman Products, unveiled an updated version of its lightweight, dead-easy-to-tow- and-set-up, plastic pod trailer at this year’s Melbourne Leisurefest.
While still boasting a “60 second” set-up time, the hard lid, Kwik Kampa 2 has more interior living space than before, thanks to a bigger rear tent measuring 1.9m x 2.1m.
Fitted with a vinyl tub floor, it’s big enough to sleep one or two little ‘uns on the floor, close to the adults on the 2m x 1.3m x 75mm thick, permanent mattress above.
Also new is an optional, 2m x 2m canvas kid’s room and tropical fly to keep the heat at bay in Australia’s far north.
Weighing around 400kg unladen, the Kwik Kamper 2 is built with a hot dipped galvanised chassis and rotomoulded, polyethylene tub. The rear-folding tent sets up in ‘overnight’ mode without pegs, while the awning swings out to the side.
The Kwik Kamper 2 ‘Xpedition’ on display at Leisurefest was fitted with a number of options, including a stainless steel, slide-out kitchen, 65 litre water tank, toolbox, jerry cans, roof racks and battery pack, for a retail price of $19,000.
With both on- and off-road versions available, the Kwik Kamper 2 comes in a range of variants with prices starting at $6995.
