Australian off-road tent trailer specialist
Johnno’s Campers has released its first toy hauler.
Dubbed the X4 Dream Hauler, the new model features a drop-down bunk in the rear cargo space, which is big enough to carry up to three dirt bikes or even a tinnie, in transit.
The front half consists of a double bed with inner spring mattress which lifts up to reveal a shallow storage compartment.
Sitting on an aluminium chassis with
a Hyland hitch, roller rocker tandem leaf spring suspension, electric brakes, and 15inch alloy wheels with mud tyres, the X4 also features an aluminium frame clad with smooth ‘alupanel’ body panels.
The roof has a thicker, two aluminium panel construction for insulation purposes.
At the rear are two wheel holders with spare tyres, which swing away to allow the bottom-hinged, strut-assisted rear door to drop down to form a ramp.
The cargo floor has three ballard wheel chocks and tie-downs to help secure the toys, and there’s also a sturdy ‘mesh’ frame on one wall to secure smaller accessories.
Other external features include a pull-out awning, three wind-out tinted window with curtains, and front racks for two 9kg gas bottles and two 20 litre jerry cans.
Set up for camping, the X4 also comes standard with two 70 litre water tanks, slide-out kitchen with two-burner gas cooker and sink with manual pump, and a slide for a portable fridge.
There’s also a basic 12V system including a 100Ah AGM battery to run the LED lights fitted.
With a Tare weight of 1260kg and GVM of 2000kg, the X4 is aimed at hunters, fishermen, trail riders and other outdoor enthusiasts,
Priced at $55,490 towaway, the four-berth trailer doesn’t come with a shower or toilet, although a special deal running at the Adelaide show included in the price a free portable hot water shower unit and portable toilet.
