Melbourne’s JB Caravans has expanded its caravan range for 2018, adding a brawny new Gator X to its off-road line-up and topping its on-road models with a more luxurious Milano Grande model.
Meanwhile, running changes on its mainstream
Dreamline Platinum on-road range include the adoption of AL-KO Enduro coil spring trailing arm independent suspension and composite wall construction as standard, making them more suited to off-bitumen excursions, while inside there’s a new club lounge layout and a separate shower and toilet.
JB’s single-axle, off-road Gator range is now topped by the new Gator X, which gets Vehicle Components’ airbag suspension, nudge bars, galvanised under-floor stone protection, two recovery points, twin 95-litre fresh water tanks and dual A-frame mounted tool boxes, two recovery points and Red Devil 16-inch wheels as standard.
Meanwhile inside, Gator X models get an island front queen-size bed, full leather upholstery, a 218-litre compressor fridge, Truma reverse cycle air conditioning and an iPod dock as part of an enhanced Fusion media player system.
New range-topper starts at $135K
JB’s range-topping Milano is now supplemented by a new Grande version that comes standard for 2018 with tandem axle airbag suspension, a galvanised under-floor and 17-inch 5-stud alloy wheels.
Inside, its long list of standard comfort feature includes a satellite dish, two TVs (a 32-inch recessed master bedroom TV plus a separate outside TV in a waterproof external hatch), a FinScan touchscreen electrical control panel, built-in RV WiFi, waterfall benchtops, an electric awning and an AL-KO anti-theft system.
All Milano models now incorporate 50mm extra headroom.
Dreamline Platinum models from 19ft 9in to 22ft in length now start at $74,990; Gator X single axle models in sizes from 16ft to 17ft 10in are priced from $80,000; while the new Milano Grande, which consists of 22ft-23ft 6in models in front, rear door, couples and family van layouts, start at $135,000.
