School leavers are being offered the chance to work at Australia’s largest RV manufacturer, under a recently advertised Jayco Cadetship program.
According to Jayco, the company is seeking expressions of interest for the three-year cadet program from “recent school leavers that are keen and enthusiastic to explore different career pathways”.
Successful applicants for the full-time roles will get the chance to work “in various departments and roles”.
“The skills and knowledge that you will learn throughout the cadetship will not only help you understand the caravan and manufacturing industry, it will equip you for many career pathways and business opportunities,” Jayco said on its website.
Jayco employs more than 1000 workers at its 50 acre factory and head office in Dandenong, Victoria. Many of the components of Jayco models are produced in-house at six, 10,000 square metre main factories, with 22 departments in total operating at the Dandenong facility.
Successful applicants will enjoy many of the benefits of existing Jayco employees, including a rostered day off each month, “above award” wages, an annual family day carnival and free access to the in-house health club including a therapeutic salt room.
The cadet positions are full time, and applicants will need to complete a pre-employment medical which includes a drug test. Jayco conducts random drug testing of employees at its factory as part of its drug and alcohol-free workplace policy.
