Votes are in for five best Australian caravan parks
Three NSW seaside parks top the rankings in Jayco's annual favourite caravan park competitionA trio of NSW coastal caravan parks have scored a majority of votes in the 2024 Jayco Greatest Escapes competition.
Crescent Head Holiday Park on the Macleay Valley Coast in NSW was announced the winner of the People's Choice category in the annual competition, and is described on its website as "an awe inspiring destination for surfers and a holiday haven for nature lovers... positioned beside one of the best surfing beaches in Australia and protected from the elements by pristine bushland.
"With on site facilities including a shop and laundry, plus the cafes and restaurants of Crescent Head nearby, it’s an ideal base when visiting the scenic Macleay Valley Coast."
Also located along the NSW coastline, the NRMA Tathra Beachfront Holiday Park picked up the Best Couples Holiday Park award, while NRMA Forster Tuncurry Holiday Park led the votes in the Best Pet Friendly Holiday Park category.
Other category winners included Queensland's BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park (Best Family Park) and the Eighty Mile Beach Caravan Park in Western Australia (Best Budget Holiday Park).
Launched in July, the aim of the 'Greatest Escapes' competition is to find the best holiday caravan spots in Australia as judged by the public, while giving away a number of prizes in the process.
This year the major prize was gift vouchers valued at more than $6000 from Let's Go Motorhomes, RV Parts Express, Dometic, Ampol and Jayco, while runner-up prizes for each category were valued at $500. The winning park also received $10,000 for park improvements.
This year's category finalists included: Voyages Ayers Rock Campground in the Northern Territory, Lake Argyle Caravan and Holiday Park in Western Australia, Sea Vu Caravan Park Robe in South Australia, Tathra Beachfront Holiday Park in NSW (Best Couples Holiday Park); Mandalay Holiday Resort, Busselton in WA, BIG4 West Beach Park in SA, Bright Riverside Holiday Park in Victoria, BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park in Queensland (Best Family Holiday Park); Anglesea family caravan park in Vic., Captain Cook Holiday Park in Tasmania, RAC Esperance Holiday Park in WA, NRMA Forster Tuncurry in NSW (Best Pet Friendly Holiday park); and BIG4 Opal Holiday Park in NSW, Nug Nug Reserve in Victoria, Eighty Mile Beach Caravan Park in WA, Venus Bay Beach Beach front Tourist Park in NSW (Best Budget Holiday Park).
