Jayco is helping drive away the winter blues with the roll-out of some bright and cheery new exterior colours for its latest, entry-level campervan.
Recently arrived at NSW Jayco dealers Watsons Leisure Centre in Coffs Harbour and Jayco Newcastle are eye-catching blue and bright orange-painted, Renault Master-based Jayco JRV campervans, to go with more traditional white versions also available.
New to the 2021-model Jayco JRV campervan range, the attention-grabbing 'Caribbean Blue' and 'Orange' colour options are part of the Renault Master base van's factory exterior paint palette which also includes a retina-scorching 'Chrome Yellow'.
For those looking for a less ostentatious Euro-style prestige look, Jayco is also offering trendy 'Urban Grey' versions of its entry-level ensuite camper, with one recently shipped across the ditch to the manufacturer's New Zealand outlet.
Watsons Leisure Centre marketing manager Ben Cumming said he expected the vibrant vans to sell quickly, due as much to the appealing choice of colours as strong demand overall for all types of RVs at the moment.
"We've had a fair bit of interest in them even before they arrived mainly because stock is pretty hard to come by at this stage. They're also very well priced," he said.
As Jayco's cheapest campervan priced from $89,990, the Jayco JRV is being promoted as a daily driver cum week-end getaway machine, with its relatively compact 6.2m long by 2.15m wide by 2.7m high dimensions suited to urban traffic, while smaller families can be accommodated on the school run with seatbelts for up to three people.
Powered by a 110kW/350Nm 2.3-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine with six speed auto transmission, the compact Renault campervan is packed with many 'big motorhome' features including a combination shower/toilet, kitchenette with two burner cooktop, sink, microwave and 62 litre compressor fridge/freezer, along with a rear lounge/dinette seating area that converts to a double bed.
Other standard features on the Renault JRV camper include a 4kg gas bottle, 60 litre fresh and 45 litre grey water tanks, 100Ah battery system with 120W solar panel, a wind-out awning, reversing camera, rooftop air-con, gas hot water, and audio and TV systems.
"The JRV RM.19-1 is the perfect second vehicle to turn a long weekend into a fun-filled holiday," the Australian RV giant said on social media earlier this year.
Jayco has been using the more affordable Renault Master base for a couple of years, including the Renault-based 20ft Conquest campervan offered in 2019 from $79,990.
Watsons Leisure Centre also has in stock a stealth-style 'Selenite Grey' Jayco All Terrain motorhome, based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 4x4 van and priced at $154,858, although that one is for display purposes only.
The 19ft JRV campervan is also available on a Fiat Ducato base from $114,990, with a 22ft Mercedes Sprinter version another pricier option, priced at $117,500.
