Jayco disputes New Age claim

Victorian RV giant still biggest producer of full-height caravans, says Jayco boss
Australia’s largest RV manufacturer has disputed a claim that it is no longer the biggest manufacturer of full-height caravans in the country.
A story published by Caravancampingsales in early-August referred to comments made by New Age Caravans’ CEO Gabby Montagnese that the Epping, Victoria-based manufacturer now sold more full-height caravans than industry leader Jayco.
However, Jayco CEO Carl Bizon has since refuted the claim, telling Caravancampingsales that Jayco’s annual production of full-height caravans alone is more than double New Age’s current overall production.
“Jayco produce in excess of 100 full-height caravans per week, substantially more that the production figures quoted by New Age,” Bizon said.
He said Jayco’s annual RV production, including camper trailers, caravans, pop-tops and motorhomes, currently exceeds 10,000 units, compared to the 2000 caravans and pop-tops that New Age is on track to build this year.
In operation for seven years, the fast-growing New Age is about to release its first camper trailer, as a direct rival to Jayco’s highly successful, pop-top camper first introduced on to the market 41 years ago.
