There's no lack of outdoor camp kitchens, portable BBQs and collapsible outdoor heaters and grillers on the market, but until now no device can lay claim to being able to do the full range of cooking and heating in the one, easy to carry and assemble unit.
But that could be about to change with the imminent launch of the Aquaforno II, an all-in-one, collapsible, multi-fuel outdoor cooking stove, BBQ grill, oven, and rotisserie that its UK designers claim offers the “ultimate in outdoor cooking”.

Utilizing a unique collapsible design, the wood- and gas-fuelled Aquaforno II is relatively easy to carry into your campsite, weighing between 15 and 20kg depending on how many items are carried in the double backpack provided.
Set-up time is a claimed sub-three minutes, and the three-tier chassis incorporates separate cooking elements including the base on tripod legs that can be used as a fire pit for warmth, a grille or a boiler to heat up water for tea or coffee.
On top of that is the ‘brazier’, which is a good base for a fry pan or wok, a hot plate for toasting, or a food warming plate.
The top ‘oven' section can be used to cook casseroles, bake pastries or cook pizzas (up to 20 in one hour if you're holding a party, according to the designers). There are also external hangers for drying tea towels or these can be used inside to smoke meats or fish. You can also roast meats with the optional rotisserie.

A number of safety features are included, including a pair of gloves to prevent burnt hands and special fire-resistant coating, while other accessories include a paella pan, pizza kit and gas burner.
The designers of the Aquaforno II have already met their goal of raising US$25,000 through a crowd-funding campaign, and plan to start delivery of the first production units around mid-2018.
‘Early bird’ pricing for the complete, stainless steel kit is currently US$399, and the business plans to ship worldwide including Australia.
