Aussie recreational travellers now have more options to choose from, with Portugal-based RV rental business Indie Campers recently setting up shop in Australia.
Already established in USA and European markets with an offering of around 7000 vehicles, the nine-year-old business plans to add more than 150 rental RVs to its fleet down under in coming months, available around Australia as well as New Zealand.
Rental customers will eventually be able to choose from a variety of campervans and other recreational vehicles, including an initial line-up of Jeep Wrangler off-roaders outfitted with rooftop tents and other camping gear.
Indie Campers is also planning to roll out a range of more comprehensively equipped, medium-sized campervans and motorhomes at a later stage.
The Indie Campers' 4x4 Jeep Wrangler model is currently available for rental in Sydney, with fees starting from $140 per night.
The five-seat 4x4 wagon is kitted out with a camp kitchen including a sink, portable gas stove, 32-litre fridge and 7.5-litre water tank, along with a portable solar shower, rear view camera, and a foldable staircase to provide access to the two-person rooftop tent.
“These high-quality custom-built campervans are designed specifically for the adventurous who have gained an increased appetite for the outdoors and freedom of vanlife,” Indie Campers CEO Hugo Oliveira said.
“We want to bring some additional unique propositions for the Australian consumers,” he said.
“Vehicles that are perfect for younger generations to get a new outlook on travelling on the road. International customers, who are at the heart of our expertise with more than 150 nationalities of clients, will also benefit from this expansion.”
