How to drive on corrugations

Corrugations can damage vehicles and lead to accidents, if you don't take care

Driving on the unsealed roads of the Australian Outback is a unique experience topped with a number of hazards unique to this part of the world.

Chief among these are corrugations or ridges that form across unsealed roads as a result of vehicles passage over time. Corrugations can severely damage your car’s suspension components, wheels, tyres and steering, and may even limit the response of your vehicle to throttle, steering and braking inputs, and perhaps lead to an accident.

But it needn’t be as dire as all that, and with a few simple tips, we’ll have you driving over corrugations more comfortably in no time.
