High flyers pack more into motocross

Jayco Toy Haulers the perfect escape vehicles for thrillseeking entertainers

Jayco’s range of Toy Haulers is proving the ideal home away from home for one of Australia’s leading teams of motocross entertainers.

The ShowTime FMX crew have been taking advantage of the extra storage capabilities and versatile sleeping arrangements of Jayco’s Base Station and Work 'N Play trailers while touring the country putting on their action-packed shows.

Last year the Showtime FMX team towed a Jayco Base Station model to various locations around Australia, while this year the crew is hauling a Jayco Work 'N Play around Melbourne and Adelaide shows, as well as the upcoming Bathurst 1000 where the high-flying entertainers will thrill the crowd as a side act to the main V8 endurance race.

Jayco updated its Toy Hauler range last year, incorporating a fresh look, new interior finishes and making it easier to set them up at camp.

The Toy Haulers offer up to 11 square metres of garage style storage space that can fit all the crew’s bikes as well as provide an area up front for kicking back after a day on the track.

The larger, 22ft (6.75m) long Base Station sleeps up to eight people, while the 17ft (5.03m) Work 'N Play offers two different layouts and can sleep up to six.

Two of the three layouts include a fully equipped bathroom with a toilet and shower. All models come with kitchen and dining areas, fridge, microwave, 12 volt rangehood and a three or four burner grille.

Aimed at adrenaline junkies like motorbike riders and action-loving individuals who need extra transportation space, the Toy Haulers feature interiors complete with updated upholstery covers, easy-to-clean vinyl flooring, full height kitchen splashbacks and a choice of colour options for bench tops.

Optional features include solar panels, air-conditioning, slide-out barbeque and external speakers.

Gary Reid, of ShowTime FMX and Crusty Demons fame, said: “Having one of the units available at our events as a spot to hang out, have a rest and store our bikes is ideal. When we travelled to Bathurst last year, we had four of our team staying in a Base Station.

“It’s great to have a ready-made unit that we can live in and use to transport our equipment around the country. We’ve carried everything in the Toy Haulers, from our golf cart, to our jet ski, four dirt bikes, some road bikes, and one time even two custom choppers.”
