Hayman Reese Secure Towing Kit

Stop thieves from taking your caravan when it’s hitched to the tow vehicle

With caravan and camper burglaries seemingly on the rise, it’s nice to know your van is secure from opportunistic thieves when you’re not at home to guard it.

But while the risk of theft is probably highest when the caravan or trailer is unhitched from the vehicle, due to removable trailer ball mounts theft is just as likely when the two are hitched together.

With this is in mind, Hayman Reese has released a new range of Secure Towing Kits that prevent the removal of the trailer ball mount from the towbar’s hitch receiver.

Rated to either 2500kg or 3500kg for heavier trailers, the Towing Kits are sold with a 50mm 3500kg rated flat sided towball, a trailer ball mount suitable for 50mm hitch receivers and a locking hitch pin.

Hayman Reese says the locking hitch pin, which comes with two keys and features a dust and weather proof cover, can also prevent theft of the trailer ball mount when unhitched.

The new Secure Towing Kits retail from $70 and are available at Hayman Reese stockists.
