'Green' holiday park recognised again

Sydney's Lane Cove River Tourist Park has won three prestigious gongs at the 2010 NSW Tourism Awards

Situated just 10km from the Sydney CBD amongst national park, Lane Cove was the winner of a Gold Award in the Ecotourism and Tourist and Caravan Parks categories, and received the Qantas Award for Excellence in Sustainable Tourism.

The Tourist Park has won numerous awards for its ecotourism in recent years, including being voted the best campground/caravan park in Australia by the National Tourism Industry in 2008.  

The park participates in a variety of conservation initiatives including worm farming and indigenous culture education, and has installed a solar panel garden feature.


As well as traditional campsites and cabins where guests can get amongst the flora and fauna, it also provides the Tandara Luxury Eco Tent facility for those wanting a bit of glamourous camping, or ‘glamping’.

While according to the Lane Cove River Tourist Park website, “every dollar spent in the Park goes directly towards maintaining our precious environment and perpetuating our carbon neutral footprint”.
