It's hard to believe, especially in these tough COVID-19 times, an offer to travel around the countryside in a campervan for six months on an all-expenses paid trip, seeing the sights while enjoying as much free beer as the drink-driving laws allow!
Well, that's the scenario American beer brand Michelob Ultra is currently setting up for one lucky person (and his or her's accompanying friend or family member), as part of its latest social media marketing promotion.
According to Michelob, the successful applicant for the CEO (Chief Exploration Officer) position will have a current driver's licence, be at least 21 years of age (the legal drinking age in the US), and enjoy hiking, camping and taking photos and videos in the great outdoors.
Job 'perks' include the supplied campervan with inside bathroom/toilet, free fuel and beer, and plenty of spending money in the form of a salary of $50,000 (around $70,000 Aussie dollars).
"During the six-month period, the CEO will travel through some of the country’s most iconic landscapes, exploring the natural beauty of America and stopping to capture photos of some breathtaking national parks including Yosemite, Sequoia, Saguara, Joshua Tree and Big Bend," it says in the online job ad, which has a deadline of September 30.
Other job requirements include a "deep appreciation for nature, the willingness to hike to the perfect photo opp, and the ability to capture engaging content for social media. Oh, and a love of beer, of course".
The successful applicant is also likely to be young and photogenic, judging by the type of fresh-faced model types regularly featured on the beer brand's social media pages!
Like in Australia, recreational vehicles are hot property in the USA at the moment, with a recent report indicating RV sales are expected to rise 4.5 per cent this year compared to 2019, to around 400,000 units, despite a two-month shutdown due to COVID-19.
