When it comes to simple, rugged and reliable hand-held GPS units, you could do worse than go for Garmin's old faithful, the eTrex HThis water-resistant unit lets you set your own waypoints at a press of a button and you can record up to 500 points, with 125 of these combined to create routes to up 20 destinations.
Five customisable displays show information such as your course, position off course, average speed, odometer, estimated time of arrival and sun-rise and sunset, on its 1.1in x 2.1in screen.
The eTrex H weighs 150g (with batteries), measures 4.4in x 2in x 1.2in and retails for $149.
