Small campervan specialist Frontline is rolling out new all-wheel drive camper conversions based on the latest Volkswagen Transporter and Ford Transit Custom all-wheel drive cargo vans.
After releasing a two-wheel drive Ford Transit Custom camper earlier this year, the 38-year old Sydney converter has introduced a camper version based on the more adventure-ready Transit Custom Trail model.

The Ford Transit Custom Trail is a rugged all-wheel drive variant of the Blue Oval transporter that is available locally in a single Long Wheelbase specification (without camper fit-out), priced from $61,990 plus on-road costs.
Available to order now, with a delivery time of around seven months, the Frontline-fettled Transit Custom Trail is priced from $116,000 drive-away and stands out with its all-paw traction, a tougher visual presence, and a variety of interior enhancements.
Frontline's camper fit-out includes the option of five layouts and up to five passenger seats, and includes a similar standard features list as the 2WD variant including pop-top roof, 110Ah battery system, 55L water tank, 90L fridge, day/night bed lounge, roll-out awning, sink with mixer tap and butane and electric cookers.

Frontline is also offering turn-key camper fit-outs of the latest seventh-generation VW Transporter 4MOTION AWD 8sp auto 2.0 TDI model, priced from $118,000, with plans to offer plug-in hybrid and battery electric versions when available.
The standard fit-out includes all the essentials for a couple embarking on a big camping trip, with a long list of options available including metallic paint, microwave, portable toilet and storage area, hot water, rooftop solar, diesel space heater, a lithium battery upgrade and a roof rack.
