In what could be a first for the industry, Caravanning Queensland is offering free safety checks for all types of recreational vehicles, without threat of fines or punishment.
Running from 8am to 3pm, and held in conjunction with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, RACQ, Queensland Police and licenced gas inspectors, the free checks and information sessions will include having your unit weighed and measured.
According to Caravanning Queensland, those who take part will also be able to “have questions answered that may have been nagging you for years.”
There will also be displays of towing equipment and other safety accessories, and free printed information will be available.
“There is no charge and inspectors will not be issuing breach notices, if applicable,” the state body assured.
The free safety checks will take place at the Brisbane Showgrounds on March 28, from 8am to 3pm. To register your interest, email your name, basic details of your RV, and preferred time, to info@caravanqld.com.au.
