Free recipes for camp cooks

Crowd sourced book full of tried-and-tested recipes makes camp cooking fun and easy

Sick of serving up the same old pasta dishes and BBQ meat-fests while on the road?

The BIG4 holiday park chain has come to the rescue, releasing another free recipe book full of tasty dishes that can be whipped up with minimum fuss in a camp kitchen.

The book contains 70 tried-and-tested camp recipes submitted by BIG4 users and fans, divided into sections including breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and sides and salads.

A variety of heat sources are utilised, from camp ovens to slow or thermal cookers, although some like the ‘No bake’ date slice require none.

It’s entertaining too, with recipe names like Glamping tuna patties and the Camping ‘tart’, as well as a couple different takes on the humble damper, including blue cheese/walnut and choc chip varieties.

The Quick and Healthy Caravan and Camping Recipes book can be downloaded for free here or printed copies are also available, from $15.50 including postage.

It’s the second year BIG4 has produced a recipe book, and the 180-strong holiday park chain said more than 24,000 people have already viewed the latest edition online.
