Once upon a time most caravan parks offered few extras apart from a kiddie playground and camp kitchen. But these days the humble caravan or 'holiday' park is often more amusement park than caravan overnighter, with splash parks, pet baths, jumping pillows and even on-site cafes that deliver a hot cappucino and bacon and egg roll direct to your entry step in the morning, not uncommon.
So it's little surprise that lifestyle park operator Ingenia Holidays has teamed up with supermarket giant Woolworths to deliver an online grocery delivery service, direct to your holiday cabin or powered site.
From the convenience of your lounge or camp chair, the items are ordered online before a delivery date and park destination is selected.

Woolworths is currently running a free delivery promotional special, but otherwise delivery costs would be similar to regular home deliveries, with big, $300-plus shops attracting no delivery fee, and a sliding scale of $3 to $15 for smaller orders.
Rather than unhitch the van and join the queue at the local supermarket, you could in theory organise the delivery truck to arrive just after the fridge has chilled. As well as stocking up on fruit and veg, you could also order some pet food for the dog, personal items like shampoo or baby nappies, and perhaps a few bottles of your favourite tipple for Happy Hour.
Ingenia says it will also get park staff to unpack the groceries before you arrive if staying in a holiday cabin, although not sure if the same service is available for lower-paying customers like caravan or motorhome owners.
The delivery service is currently available at 17 Ingenia-branded holiday parks in NSW and Queensland.
