An American company has released an all-terrain 'apartment on wheels' aimed at digital workers and full-time travellers that want to get off the beaten track but without sacrificing any of the comforts of home.
Combining elements from tiny homes, city apartments and monster truck expedition vehicles, the new Wanderbox Outpost 35 is based on a Ford F-600 4x4 truck powered by a 6.7-litre turbo-diesel engine with 10-speed auto transmission, along with a hydraulic levelling system.

Riding on 20in wheels with 41in off-road tyres, the Outpost 35 weighs just under 10 tonnes unloaded and boasts a 9500kg payload, while also being able to tow a trailer up to 4500kg.
Wanderbox says the boxy motorhome body is made from aerospace-grade aluminum honeycomb panels with 5cm thick insulation, with other 'no rot' structural materials used throughout the construction including fibreglass-reinforced polymer I-beams.

Living and working off the grid for long periods is possible with a standard 2800-watt rooftop solar array, 24kWh lithium battery bank, 24V DC and 110/220V AC split-phase marine-grade electrical system, and a back-up built-in generator.
You'll be able to enjoy plenty of long hot showers too, with a 900 litre-plus fresh water capacity, and 470 litres grey and 280 litre 'black' water tanks.
Described as "the most comfortable off-grid camper you can buy", the apartment-style interior boasts 210cm high ceilings, powered skylights and caravan-style doubled glazed windows, and a roomy layout with front and rear 'bedrooms' and domestic style kitchen, lounge and bathroom areas.
"A king-size bed in the master suite complements two sets of drawers, a closet, two nightstands, and two spacious cabinets," the company says on its website.

"A queen cabover bed hides behind a four-stool bar when you fold away the access ladder and pull out the countertop. It’s a working, dining, and socializing zone that slides out from underneath the bed."
Kitchen appliances include a three-burner induction cooktop, trash compactor, combination washer/dryer, 'French door' fridge/freezer with ice maker, air fryer and coffee machine, with a marine toilet, medicine cabinet and 80cm x 80cm 'dry' shower in the central bathroom.

Other creature comforts include filtered water throughout, diesel heating and air conditioning, along with climate controlled interior storage and a fully sealed positive air system to keep the dust out.
On-the-road communications are covered by a satellite dish receiver, 5G wi-fi hot spot, CB radio and an emergency satellite locator, with entertainment provided by three big-screen TVs and a six-speaker stereo. The electrics are managed by two wall-mounted touchscreens.

Exterior highlights include a powered awning and entry steps, outdoor kitchen and entertainment system, rear and side cameras, and a hi-tech security system.
All this doesn't come cheap with pricing for the Colorado-built motorhome starting at US$399,000 (around AUD$592,000), with options including a dishwasher, BBQ wood smoker and rear electric motorcycle/ATV lift.
